North American Midway Entertainment — Complete Control System Rebuild
Project Overview
The Disko is a well-used ride that North American Midway Entertainment (NAME) purchased after it had been sitting for some time. The first season they put it on the road, I was out nearly every time they set it up, troubleshooting the controls and PLCs to keep it running. At the end of that season, they decided it was time for a full rebuild.
What We Did
New Compact Logic PLCs — Replaced the outdated PLC system with modern Compact Logic PLCs in both the main and gondola cabinets.
New Electrical Cabinets & Wiring — Complete rebuild of the electrical cabinets with all-new wiring throughout.
Modern HMI Operator Stand — New operator stand with HMI screen for a completely redesigned operating experience.
Wireless Communication — Upgraded wireless communication between the disc and main cabinet for reliable signal performance.
VPN Remote Access — Built-in VPN system allows me to log in and troubleshoot from anywhere in North America, no matter where the ride is set up.
Updated Schematics — Modified the original electrical schematics to match the new system for future maintenance reference.

The Result
The Disko now runs reliably with a modern operating system that's far easier to operate. With VPN remote access, troubleshooting can happen in real time without waiting for a service call, dramatically reducing downtime in the field.
